What you need to do is make a grid, and then once you put in the numbers given, below write in the numbers that can go in each box.... this slowly starts to show you where things have to go.

For example.... in column 4, you have two numbers missing. 5 and 7

therefore.... c4-r1 can be either a 5 or a 7
therefore.... c4-r5 can be either a 5 or a 7

however, r5 already has a 7 at c8-r5.

therefore.... c4-r5 has to be the 5
