Wii is Nintendo's newest game console, which was developed under the codename 'Revolutions'.
Nintendo's US vice president of marketing, Perrin Kaplan, explained that "The name Wii works on several levels. It sounds like the word 'we,' which emphasizes the all-inclusive nature of the system.".
She also mentions that the two i's look like little people, and also resembles the console's remote controllers.
